I'm a 59 year old identical twin to Bobbie,who lives mostly at her winter home in Palm Desert,California. I miss her every day! I live in lower Eastern Michigan. I have 3 sons and 2 grandsons. My oldest son, Paul is a Fireman/Rescue/Swat. He is married to Julie and they are mommy & daddy to Matthew 4yrs old and Nicholas 8 yrs old. My middle son,John is an Executive Chef and still single(*sigh),and the youngest,Marc is a Millwright,steel worker and is married to Allison,a Paramedic. My hubby is happily retired and working a minimum wage part-time dream job,as a golf ranger!...All the golf he can play for free!.John is the love of my life, and we have been married for 38+ years! I love to gamble and travel. I also love to go on cruises.I adore the color green.I really enjoy meeting new people. I find it wonderfully relaxing to take a good book,find a decent restaurant, and enjoy a meal by myself where I can actually keep track of the plot lines! I am an avid reader of almost anything, but especially personal blogs....yeap, I'm a blog-whore. I enjoy medical blogs, personal triumph blogs, family blogs and all things multiple.

Wild turkey! Nyssa, my daughter, went to Hawaii with her geology class last May and she said their camping area had a group of wild turkeys. Each morning the turkeys would squawk and it sounded like they were yelling "Happy Birthday", over and over. She was annoyed and amused.

They call a group of turkeys a "rafter"? That's like a flock of crows being a "murder" - what a cool fact to know and a great picture to look at!

I just found some turkey tracks in the snow by our place a couple of days ago. I should've had an adventure and followed them, but it was cold. Looking forward to spring green again.

I saw so many wild turkeys on a trip this fall to North Carolina. I can only imagine what noise an entire group would make running through your backyard! :-)

I don't think I would of grabbed the camera, I think I would of grabbed a jump-rope, some twine something and give it my best to catch it and present it to my wife and say "Make room in the freezer honey because here comes dinner."

It's just me again. I was reading your profile and it says your husband works part time as a golf ranger. Well, when my husband retired, he got a part-time job as a marshall at the golf course too. And for the same reason, so he could golf free. So he took Tuesday's off so that we could golf with our gang who were all retired military and DOD workers. this was for a country club in Hawaii.
So a herd of turkeys is a rafter . . . I am learning so much on this meme! One day a rafter of turkeys (I counted 17) was right outside the living room window. I never would have known except my cats were totally beserk! The birds finally wandered up back on the mountain. Thank you for the picture!

learn something new every day -- never knew it was a "rafter" of turkeys -- but then again have never seen turkeys in the wild either! We have a congress of bald eagles (about 2,000 of them) that winter near Vancouver. Always thought that was an odd way to describe a whole bunch of birds LOL! Thanks for stopping by too.

I was told to watch out for wild turkeys when we moved out here in the rural burbs of Chicago - that they were mean....but I've not really seen any yet. Saw a pheasant...
