TN Chick's Photo Hunt: Theme this week is BOOK

My Twin sister, Bobbie, has a thing for Authors and celebrities signing their books...so here goes the photos of SOME of the books she has had signed...

The first, a new dear friend of mine, but a long time friend of Bobbies, Jean Lee Porter, a novel "THE STONE MUST BREAK", about WWII and love, life and loss. This was a compelling novel and knowing the author made it even more spectacular for me. When I went to California in March, we took Jean Lee out to lunch and had the foresight to get a photo of an 86 year old marvel!

The next book is a friend of Bobbies from the Press Club at their Country Club meeting. Anita Clay Kornfield, author of "VINTAGE" a novel.

The next book is at a book signing in Palm Desert, CA.,for Barbara Sinatra featuring her "THE SINATRA CELEBRITY COOKBOOK" that she wrote with her husband Frank Sinatra.

Next is a book written by Roberta Linn, who was Lawrence Welk's first Champagne Lady, titled "NOT NOW,LORD, I'VE GOT TOO MUCH TO DO". This is her memoirs if her television job.

One of my favorite celebrities in the world, the still beautiful Carol Channing, author of "JUST LUCKY I GUESS"

Last, but not least, a book signing by Kirk Douglas for his book "MY STROKE OF LUCK". He was quite old when he signed the book for Bobbie

So that's just some of my sisters wonderful photos that fit this word TNChick has chosen for this week. Are you interested in joining? It's a very entertaining sort of Photo Hunt and you visit other blogs who post photos for the word given each Saturday. I've been playing for over a year, and still enjoy it tons!

TNChick's Photo Hunt~~~Theme: MEMORY

Add Image

This statue is erected at the Palm Springs Air Museum in California. Bobbie purchased two bricks to honor our father, Keith Douglas Powers, and her father in law, John Kenneth Eschbach, who was a P.O.W., serving in the European WWII as a Tailgunner. The The two bricks are behind the statue. The first photo shows our daddy's brick, in memory.

The shadowbox that my twin sister made honoring our father, Keith Douglas. Our dad served in the Coast Guard in WWII, in the Asian Pacific Theater, in the Leyte Gulf
.
Daddy passed away when twin and I were 12 years old, the oldest of 6.
The next two graphics were made by my sister, Cindy (aka KissedAlotAtoads), in memory of our brother and our mother. Our sweet brother Douglas recently passed away this past December. Momma passed away August of 2007. MY sisters and brother and I miss them every moment of every day! My sisters are my twin, Bobbie, Cindy (KissedAlotAtoads), Mary Lou, Sande and brother Don.

TN Chick's Photo Hunt: Theme this week is WALKING

I have never been so proud of anyone as I was the day my daughter in law, Allison walked the 60 mile Susan G. Komen 3-Day Breast Cancer Walk! Allison was exhausted and exhilarated at the end of the Walk For A Cure! They slept in pink pup tents, wore pink clothing and walked for someone they loved. My daughter in love, Allison, did PINK proud!!!
